We signed up for a tour of the Harajuku area and we were the only ones that turned up so we got a private tour! Our tour guide was a lovely local lady named Kimiko who spoke English very well. We walked up the famous Takeshita Street and saw all of the outrageous fashions in the stores and on passerby. It was a rainbow of colour! We watched the famous shop make their cotton candy confections, that was amazing!
Then we went out for an outrageous snack! (No doubt your favourite part as a sugar junkie).
After our snack we went to the Ometesando Mall which is an architectural highlight and full of designer stores.
We saw locals doing this pose so we did it throughout our trip:
We're such dorks!
You took a real shine to Kimiko, it was very sweet. You hung on her every word and asked questions freely. At one point we were walking three abreast with you between us and I heard her giggle so I looked down and you had grasped her hand as well as mine so you could walk holding both of our hands. It was very cute and I think you were a bit smitten!
Always interested in candy of course. The Japanese seem to love it too!
But I wanted fresh sushi!
