Mom's Birthday Weekend in Vancouver

This year for my birthday I chose to do something I've always wanted to do with you guys-ride bikes around Stanley Park.  It was such a perfect day for it, full sun and a tiny bit breezy.  It was perfect.  We rented tandem bikes right outside the park and Will and I rode on one with Charlie and Dad on the other.  Stanley Park is so well set up for this with separate bike and pedestrian lanes and one way flow of traffic.  It was such an awesome experience, I loved it!
You guys loved it too!  Everyone agreed it should be our new tradition for Mom's birthday :)

 The Stanley Park totem poles.

A lighthouse about half way around the park.

What fun!  Afterwards we wandered around and looked for a fun place to eat for lunch.  We were all starving since we had worked up an appetite!  We found this really cool dumpling house where they made each dumpling by hand in the kitchen and you can watch.  We learned that there is a very specific way to eat soup dumplings and we nailed it!  First, you have to pierce the thin skin of the dumpling while holding it on a spoon.  The soup inside flows out and you drink that first, then eat the dumpling.  You boys were skeptical at first but it turns out you liked it!

Kim and Conan were so kind as to let us use their condo while we were in Van.  Since hotel prices were astronomical this weekend downtown we sure appreciated it.  Not that we didn't spend the money we saved at Nordstrom...
