Kooza

One Tuesday we had an office malfunction and I had to cancel my day. I immediately saw it as an opportunity to take Will to Kooza since we hadn't been able to catch it yet. I got online and minutes later had tickets to the show and a hotel for that night. I went to the school and picked you up to tell you the news. You were so excited and went back into the classroom to tell your friends. We immediately made our way to Vancouver and had such a fun night out! The show was amazing and you were stunned. We flew back the next day, so fun!

Duncan Christmas Train

We made the trip to Duncan to ride the Christmas Train as we do every year. This year Grandma and Papa and the Hilcheys joined us! It was fun!

We were trying to get a photo in front of the big, beautiful Christmas Tree in the hall and we photobombed by Santa himself!

Bunny Hop

This fall Charlie took an art class at 4Cats art studio in Lantzville, a bike ride from the Treehouse. You did a number of projects but this was by far the masterpiece. We affectionately named it Bunny Hop. We stretched it right away and will find a great place to hang it :)

NYC for Katie's Bday!

For Katie's 40th we all made the trip to NYC to celebrate. She had always wanted to skate at Rockefeller Center and we did it with her to celebrate. It was such a fun weekend and great to catch up with everyone.

The skate itself was magical, we splurged on the VIP tickets which led us into a little heated room with hot chocolate and cookies and no wait. The line up to get into the rink was up the stairs and around the entire rink! We saw to proposals at the centre of the ice. It was magical.

Afterwards we walked down to Times Square. It was bustling as usual but I think even more so given the Christmas season. It was a couple of weeks after the Paris shootings and security was through the roof. It was unnerving to see the gated off area where NYPD members were stand with assault rifles. So sad it has come to that.

We were able to snap two tickets to see Hamilton on Broadway, the hot ticket right now. We could only get after market seats. Boy was it worth it! I haven't stopped listening to the soundtrack since!

The couple beside remarked it was a masterpiece, it was! President Obama has seen it twice and recently invited the writer and star Lin-Manuel Miranda to freestyle in the Rose Garden (I think he likes it). It was the best show I've ever seen. I hope they will tour.

Kohl's Halloween Birthday Party

This year Nikki and Cindy planned a Halloween Party for the kids in Grade 1 at Costin Hall. A lot of effort went into it and it was a hit!

Will, you wanted to be something gross-out so we settled on a zombie and since zombie's a so hot right now it was easy to find gross makeup for it. Of course, I knew that whatever Will was Charlie would also want to be so to avoid any tantrums we did the exact same for you.

We took a couple of old not-so-special outfits from your closets and I literally tore them up with knives, and then we sprayed them with yellow and brown tie-dye and let them dry out in the sun. The big battle was over makeup since Miss K had specifically said no to blood. You debated that since the party wasn't school you should be able to wear the blood to the party and we agreed on a little around the mouth. I was quite hesitant about it since your costume at school involved no blood, just ghoulish makeup and the second Lorenzo saw you he cried...

Anyways, you both looked very scary and learned to walk like zombies too.

Somehow, during the egg and spoon relay game, Charlie you still ended up looking adorable:

A sleepover with Tye!

It was very sad for you when Tye (and Mylah) switched schools this fall. I wasn't sure what would happen to your friendship but your interest in Tye never faded. You asked about him regularly and of course we saw him over the summer at BMX. You two have a very special relationship and we are trying to get you together here and there. Although weeks had passes your friendship didn't skip a beat!

Mom got the supplies for these Jack Jars for an activity for you two. I may have had more fun with it that you both. I think you were more interested in playing Plants vs Zombies in your room and jumping off the bed...

Charlie was still in Ontario with Grandma at this point (after Great-Grandma's 90th) so it was a good time to have a friend over for sure.
