Finn's Busytown Birthday!

Daddy has been such a trouper taking you to all of your social engagements solo so that Mommy can rest as the finish line approaches.  He said you had a ball at Finn's 3rd Birthday which was a Busytown theme!  Look how creative Nikki is!  She set up all of these Busytown stations for you guys to play with.  Of course, the boys devolved into a spraying fight and were totally consumed by that...

Happy Birthday Finn!!

We bought a cottage!

In keeping with Mommy and Daddy's tendency to always have a project on the go, two weeks before Mommy was due we bought a cottage on Sproat Lake!  As if we don't have enough on our plates right now!  But this is the way things go for us.  Seemingly we always need our plates full!
We just couldn't pass up this wonderful opportunity since we felt that this cottage was perfect for us.  Also, knowing that our little family was soon to grow to four (with two little BOYS!) we decided that a cottage was in the plan for our soon-to-be active lifestyle :)
It was such a great opportunity for us since this cottage fit all of our needs, had a sloping (double) lot and the interior, although initially ghastly, could be easily renovated to our tastes.  It helped that we got a steal of a deal for lakefront property on Sproat, the most desirable lake on the island.
When the papers were signed I ran right out and got a bottle of cider (alcohol-free of course) to celebrate our new home away from home!
Cheers!

A day at the beach

One of your favourite things to do these days is CLIMB.  If there is any structure near you that is tall you are bound to try and get to the top of it.  This big piece of driftwood was perfect for a climb.  Too cute.

Just a few weeks left but out there with the boys toughin it out!
Looks like Daddy likes a good climb too!
With my cutie Will.  No room on my lap anymore!

Busytown show

Oops!  There are a couple of other things we did before Charlie.  One of them was Daddy taking you to Busytown at the Port Place Theatre.  You loved it and actually still talk about it today.  By the way, you asking me to take you to something resembling musical theatre puts me over the moon!
Emma, Cole and Natasha were also there with Kimi and Leslie and Daddy got such a cute shot of you four!

The last brunch

Grandma took the three of us out for brunch the day before Mommy's scheduled C-section.  The brunch a Pacific Shores has always been a favourite of ours.  Their eggs benedict is amazing and Will loves to watch the fish in their enormous aquarium!  Oh and did I mention they have ribs on the menu??  Double fun for Will!  You can eat your way through the entire baby rack, an appetite we see very infrequently...
Our last photo as a family of three.  Bittersweet for me...

Will plays Soccer!

You're doing better at soccer these days.  Grandma took you this time and she said you really gave it your best.  I think that as you get better at it you become less frustrated.  You have a very low threshold for frustration these days!
So cute in your oh-so-hip soccer outfit!

Nice moves David Beckham!

Daddy turns 35!

Mommy made Daddy a special cake FOUR days before giving birth, now that's love!  It's ok he really deserves it!  It was tasty too :)
I was feeling badly that Daddy's 35th was quite low-key but given the circumstances it was all we could manage.  We will make up for it next year!
Grandma was nice enough to put Will to bed so that Mommy and Daddy could go out for a nice dinner at Giovanni's in Qualicum, one of our favourite restaurants.  So yummy!  The only bummer was not being able to have our favourite wine which they stock.

Daddy got some great gifts, gift certificates galore, mostly to the Home Depot, and Mommy gave him a big one for Banana Republic so he can buy some new clothes for his ever-shrinking figure ;)
Happy Birthday Daddy!!!!
