The last day of school 2017

On the last day of school we always attend the Closing Ceremonies.  It is always so well done and such a sweet sendoff for the end of the school year.  Each class sings a song or does a presentation.  Usually I cry!
This year the JK4s sand a song called "Let's go play on a summer day" and you went dressed up as such with a beach ball to boot.
It was adorable!

We could barely see you Will, this is the best shot we could get!

End of school days

I got to be around quite a bit at the end of the year this year and capture some special moments.  I can't believe you are going to be at the big school next year Charlie!
Dad and I went to your last student-led conference and you shone as always.

You were a tiger in the end of the year drama presentation.  Your class collaborated and wrote a story that you all created a set, costumes and acted out.  You were a tiger!

 So cute!

In the last weeks of school we also had an introduction to Kindergarten visit.  Your teacher will be Mrs Taylor (formerly Miss E) and we will also have Miss Swanton full time in the Kindergarten class.  You jumped right in to all of the activities in the new classroom.  You are so ready for this.

The afterparty

We had a blast with your friends at JJs.  We had lunch and a cake there and you were spoiled all over again with gifts.  When it was time for us to say goodbye we all went back to our house for a lovely catered lunch and champagne to celebrate both Dad and Charlie's Birthdays.

I can't believe my baby is FIVE!

Charlie Is Five!

Such a cute invitation!  We do birthday parties on odd years for you boys and this was your big year Char!  You really wanted your party to be at Airhouse this year (so new and fun) but the age restrictions prevented it so we went with the tried and true JJs.
Most kids from your class were there and Mikayla from next door as well as your aunts and uncles from Vic and Van, yay!

On the morning of your birthday we opened up your presents from us and your grandparents.  You were spoiled as usual.  The highlight was a remote controlled truck, new fidget spinner and dry fit clothing that you love.

You had a blast with your friends!

Bike to school week, Barb's Birthday and Baseball

We really do partake in Bike to School Week each year.  Last year Will and I actually rode our bikes from home to the school and Will coached me up the hill outside Dover!  This year we had crap weather unfortunately but we still went along the path each day and also from Ware Road one day in Lantzville.  We met up with some friends and I sent you on your way!

Barb was here to celebrate her birthday with us this year.  We had a lovely dinner at Asteras, fun!

So Aaron ordered the birthday photos this year and these monstrous enlargements are what we received....
Apparently Dad is super stoked for this type of photography.

The Giants made it to the final four but didn't medal.  We got a ribbon, no biggy!  Way to go Giants!

Last few days of Mexico

We read about local restaurants on Tripadvisor and were able to find some hidden gems that way.  Look at the platter!  And, yes, we ate it all.

 More nachos for breakfast:

Here's a funny story.  We heard about a place called Julio's through the grapevine at the hotel and wanted to check it out.  We google mapped it and could never figure out why we couldn't get a result for this place.  Then as we wandered in the area we were told it was located we spotted this fine establishment.  Ahhhh, light bulbs switched on.  The best churros we ever had.

 Pipi's of course!

Happy Birthday Dad!!
We love you!!!

PV for Dad's 40th!

Well, Dad, for your fortieth birthday the world was your oyster and we could have gone anywhere to celebrate it.  You are truly a creature of habit and opted for Puerto Vallarta, our tried and true Mexican getaway.  Don't get me wrong, I was happy to go :)

Our little boutique hotel was a few blocks away from La Taqueria La Donna (which seems to have been renamed) where we once shared a very filling and highly economical lunch.  We ate here several times...
We also found a lovely little breakfast spot right across the street from our hotel where we ate most mornings.  Nachos for breakfast?  Check!

 What a view!
