Office Christmas Party

Mommy and Daddy on our way to the Dorchester Hotel for our fourth annual Northfield Dental Christmas Party (and 3rd one at this venue). Hard to believe we've been here that long!
Looking dapper!

Our move to Nanoose Bay

You and I on moving day, just hours before we left Malibu Terrace for the last time. We spent just over 3 years here and this was your first house, so it has a special place in our hearts, but it was time to move on. Shetland is perfect for us right now. We love it!
We were a little bit worried about you adjusting to the new house but you have been just fine with it. Even though the day we took possession we went to the house and 2 lots away were a collection of heavy machinery just chipping away....we had a fit! While they were blasting rock our house shook and they were really going at it during your 12-3 daily nap, ugh!
But you have been a sleep champ as usual, it didn't seem to phase you a bit.

We out up our puny little Christmas tree that we bought at the townhouse in Victoria and it just looks so ridiculous here but we had way too much on our plates to upgrade it this year! Next year we'll have a stunner :)

Your first advent calendar!

Grandma bought you your first advent calendar ans as could be anticipated it was a hit!
I don't think that you get that there is a chocolate every day in December and that we're counting down to something but you sure do enjoy eating a chocolate a day!
Every dinner (and sometimes lunch) you ask for a "yummy." We help you to open a little window and pry out a chocolate and then we proceed to break the little chocolate into several pieces so we can bribe you with it to eat a few more bites of real dinner. Eating is not your strong suit my love. Can't wait to see you open presents!

Your little plastic shopping cart

You have a strange obsession with shopping carts. When we go grocery shopping you are very interested in sitting in the cart, or pushing the cart with mommy, and if a better cart comes along (aka a car themed one etc) you quite boldly "suggest" that we trade carts, which we often do...
Shopping with you is quite an experience.
Whenever we go to a toy store you gravitate to carts, or maybe it's just things with wheels that you like. Lately, there is a clear interest in anything transportation.
So Grandma and I couldn't leave Toys-R-Us without this little cart and you pushed it through the mall on our way out. Now you push it around the house, and lately you've been trying to sit in it. You try to sit in lots of things, even your little cars and trucks. That is very interesting to watch ;)
So this is you, at 20 months, sitting in your little cart. XO!

Puerto Vallarta November 2010

Last week we went to Puerto Vallarta (again!). We stayed at the Royal Decameron which was less than impressive. Let's just say we won't be back to that resort and Daddy had a very sore back from the rock hard mattress all week :(
You had fun, but we spent too much time chasing after you! You are such a handful as it is, and that week we had a pool to contend with and all sorts of other safety issues so we really had to keep a close eye on you!!!
I kind of thought you would prefer the pool but the water was quite cold, I don't think it was heated at all. I couldn't blame you, it was cold for us too!
We took you to the beach and for the first little while you couldn't get over the sand that was on your hands. You kept saying "deaty" so we would wash your hands off. I'm not sure where you got this clean freakishness from but it is quite funny.

You spent a little bit of time in the pool with Daddy and I when it got really hot. We would carry you around or put you into this little floaty tube. You didn't like either very much though. It wasn't long before you were saying "ow." (Out).
This was the cutest! We found a sprinkler on one of the lawns after breakfast one day and you had a ball with it. It was the most light, misty spray in just the first hours of the morning with the hot sun starting to come on. You ran into it and away from it and screamed with glee every time. It was precious. Pretty soon you were drenched and we took you back to the room to change you.

With mommy and daddy by the pool:

There was a large chess set there where you spent a lot of time. You liked rearranging the pieces and carrying them into the pool area (while we chased you) and most of all you loved the horses which you would snuggle and kiss. Really. It was adorable.
Sometimes mommy even got a snuggle. Albeit for just a moment...

You and daddy having a look at the beach:

New IKEA fun stuff

Last weekend Daddy went to the IKEA in Vancouver and bought you your very own table and stools, so cute!
You love to sit on the little blue chairs and use a table at your level. We draw with crayons, have snacks and play with you new tea set here. You are big on scooping the sugar.

In the new house you will have a sizeable play room (aka our formal living room) and I can't wait to see everything in it! You are going to love it! And mommy loves the storage that was also purchased for clean up time.

Our new house

We took you up to see the new house in Nanoose last weekend. You were mostly interested in getting back into the car (you are obsessed with driving these days) but we think you liked it??

Anyhow, this was the first time in the new house. We love it and I'm sure you will too! Especially the super fun pool in back!

Annual Seattle Trip

Last weekend we headed down to Seattle for our annual November trip. Our tradition started 3 years ago when Mommy, Daddy and Grandma (and you in my tummy) went and did some shopping, dining and saw a Seattle Seahawks game. Mommy was such a trouper and sat in the rain for 3 hours...
The next year our group grew to include Lucien, Kimi and Emma and the 3 of us. We stayed at the hotel together and Daddy and Luc went to see a Seahawks game while the 4 of us went shopping, that's better!
This year Bryce, Nikki and Finn, Leslie, Claudio, Natasha and Sam, Kimi, Luc and Emma (and their new addition in Kimi's belly) and the 3 of us went down! How fun. We all got some good shopping in and the boys went to the football game on Sunday:

You slept like an angel for your nap on the way home:

I wonder how many people we can get next year!

The Toronto Zoo

While we were in Toronto Grandma and I took you to the Zoo!
You were a little squeamish with the monkeys at first:

But then you were ok with it!

You really liked the tigers.

And the "Appo":

Such a fun day we had here! And you slept all the way home in the car, perfect!

A cake for Will

Great-grandma bought you a Black Forest Cake to eat over the week since Great-grandpa couldn't be there for your first birthday. It was essentially a smash cake, but you were much more neat about it this time around!
You started saying "yum, yum" right around this time.

Thanksgiving trip to Oakville!

In mid-October you and I went to Oakville to visit grandma, Rick, great-grandma and great-grandpa. We went over Thanksgiving weekend and arrived just in time to catch an indian summer! We went to the beach one morning and you found a stick! This stick was a great joy to you :) Go figure.

You discovered soooo many things you can do with a stick. This is drawing. There is also whacking, leaning and poking :

God bless a good stick!

Halloween!

We dressed you up as a dinosaur this year, Mommy thought the costume was too cute. So we bought it about a month before the big day and worked on getting you to roar all month! We have a little toy dino that roars and by Halloween you were roaring up a storm on your own!

One day we did a dry run and put your costume on and then I took you to the mirror to show you what you looked like. You stared and stared and then burst out crying!! Not the best idea. I rushed you away from the mirror and you wouldn't have anything to do with the outfit for weeks. I hung it up near your toys so you could make friends with it but as the day approached it wasn't looking good. But finally, on the Saturday night when we went to the Chase's Halloween party you had no problems with it and wore it all night, phew!

Here we are dressed up and ready to go to the party!

Dino kisses for Mommy (aka Audrey).

On the big day the next night, Auntie Shannon came to visit and we went Trick or Treating around our block. You were a pro! You were a little unsure about what to do at first but got the hang of it quickly! We would walk you up to the door and say "knock, knock" and after the first few houses you were saying "knock, knock" on your own! First time!
After a while you would walk up to the door and try the knob! Haha!
We told you that when the door opened you should scare the person with a big roar. You were so good at it. The person would open the door and you would take a second to evaluate the situation with a pause and then say "roar" rather unenthusiastically. But if the person acted along and was quite scared you would get really bold and shout "ROAR!" and stamp your foot! We were all laughing like crazy, it was too funny!

As we were walking by the little park we take you to at the bottom of the street, you strayed over there and wanted to have a little pit stop at the swings. We indulged you for a couple a minutes and then carried on!

All in all a super successful night! Looking forward to next year!
